Hi Andreas,
Here is another bug I found in the MIDI section. The [MAIN BUG] is a real bug that can only be corrected by modifying the XML of the trigger. The other points are more for the usage of the feature.
Thanks a lot,
zorze
Description
- Non predictable usage of text box Only if all these notes/controls are on:
- [MAIN BUG] If text is written in the text box and then deleted, the trigger will never be activated. Exept if "BTTNotes" : "" and "BTTMidiActiveNotes" : "" are removed from the trigger json and pasted back.
- If a note value (e.g. 65) is written in the text box, the trigger will not be activated until the note is pressed (that is OK) but from now on (even if the note is released) the trigger will continue to be activated.
- If a control value (e.g. 5) is written in the text box, the trigger will never be activated, even when the control message is sent.
Steps
- Top left pop-up menu > MIDI Triggers
- Create trigger
- Select trigger
- Use text box Only if all these notes/controls are on:
Notes
- Note value: Maybe the problem comes from the fact that in BTT this feature is waiting for a Note Off. A lot of MIDI gears use a Note On with velocity of zero to signify a Note Off. See:
https://www.midi.org/forum/228-writing-midi-software-send-note-off,-or-zero-velocity-note-on - Control value: There is no Control Off, only values between 0-127. So the usage is akward.
Specs
- BTT version : 3.368 (1587)
- MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2016)
- MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
