Hi all
I just rebuilt my Mac. Not sure what OS version I had before, but running 13.3.1 now. Reinstalled BTT to use with my Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse (same one as I have always used). However since the rebuild, I can no longer use buttons 4 and 5 (side buttons) as triggers. They seem to be hardwired in the OS to some sort of back/forwards (but not browser back/forwards). I've downloaded trials of a bunch of other Mac apps that claim to allow re-assigning of mouse buttons, and I can't re-assign the buttons in any apps. Any ideas where I can look to see why this stopped working after my rebuild? Can still reassign Mouse Button 3 (middle button), just not side buttons. Thanks.
Ok, this is going to sound weird, but I managed to get the desired functions (move left a space and move right a space in Mission Control) by going to System Settings, opening Keyboard Shortcuts for Mission Control, and clicking the side buttons for the "move left/right a space" shortcuts. They register as Shift-Command-Left/Right on the keyboard for some reason. But they registered as mouse buttons before the rebuild? So weird. Would still be interested into hypotheses as to why!
