Menu Bar Item setting as a trigger

Hi there, I am new to Touchbar, so maybe it is a silly question. I use menu bar item funcion to do certain things in iWork Numbers simply by pressing a button on my Touchbar. The button is configured for exact phrase set in menu. The problem is, that I need the button to work as a trigger, but the phrase always changes (for example show/hide). Is there a way for setting the button to trigger two different phrases in menu, or do I need to use two buttons? One for triggering a thing on and the other for triggering it off.

I'm on my iPad, but if I remember correctly if you say to trigger the menu item "view,(2)" your button will always trigger the second menu item, even if it changes its name. It should be written in the window for "trigger menu bar item".
