(Magic) Trackpad Tap and Hold

Hi - new to BTT. Loving it so far.

I have a question however, is there a way to do tap and hold on the trackpad? I.e., I tap it and then hold it for “x” seconds and THEN the action triggers? And if you lift up ahead of “x” seconds, it doesn’t trigger the action.

I have played around with duration as an advanced condition and I can test it in the advanced condition screen (and it works), but for whatever reason, I cannot get it to trigger actions as intended. I have tried the following:

  • 4 Finger Tap -
    • Advanced Condition - trackpad_touch_duration >= 3
    • Action is just HUD for now to see if it works.
    • I cannot get this to work.
  • Also have done 4 finger tap
    • If Condition
      • trackpad_touch_duration >= 3
    • True - same action as above (HUD)
    • Else - Nothing
    • End

I have also tried a few other things (although I am less familiar with them):

  • Creating Trigger 1
  • Four Finger Tap
  • Setting a variable (i.e., TouchTimer = 1)
  • Putting a pause for 3 seconds
  • Setting the same variable to Touchtimer = 0
  • Using a second trigger
  • 4 Finger Tap (Step 2)
  • Using Advanced Conditions to only allow it if Touchtimer = 0

I get the feeling Tap is only edge driven at the moment of tap and then it doesn’t capture anymore. Maybe holding is too similar to swipe at that point?
