Magic Mouse: 1 Finger Double-Tap

Hello,

I am new to BTT and adore the application.

I love the "tap" options for the Magic Mouse, but wondering if a 1 Finger, Double-Tap is an option? I would like to assign it an action of "double click". Is there a workaround for this? I do not see it as an option.

Thanks!

4 years since this request and I’m also looking for the same trigger. Is it something that has no plans to be implemented? Thank you.

If you assign left click to "Single Finger Tap Left" it will automatically handle double tapping and perform the various things that are necessary for dragging etc.

Hi. I’m trying to figure this out, as I want to duplicate the double-tap function of a trackpad.

In the menu of Actions, I only see “1 Finger Middle Click”; no “Left Click”.

Right now, I have “1 Finger Tap Left” mapped to “Left Click - Without Modifier Keys”, and right-tap mapped to right-click.

This works perfectly, but I can’t double-tap to drag anything.

You need to assign the standard "Left Click (At Current Mouse Position)" action not the "Left Click - Without Modifier Keys"

You win the record for fastest developer response times! Thank you, I’ll try this out!

I’m curious: is there a reason that there’s not a “1 Finger Double Tap” Action?

EDIT: I’ve made the change, but I still cannot drag any windows when I double-tap. Do I have this set up right?

You need to remove the "no action" at the top. This special setup only works if the left click is directly assigned to the gesture.

There is a lot of logic involved in simulating a double-tap to drag (there are many click states that need to be handled), which is why this can not be setup manually easily.

Wow, how did I miss that?

Thanks so much! It’s working now.

I have it all setup as instructed but cannot get the dragging to work.

1 Finger Tap Left > Left Click (At Current Mouse Position)

I keep having to create a secondary gesture for dragging a window. I don’t know what I am missing.

This setting is enabled by default, but maybe it is disabled on your system @LRodzen

It needs to be active

This is how I have it all setup below… I am just super confused. I finally upgraded to the newer version, had an old version that had worked but wanted to keep supporting, love the stuff you put out and the personal support!!

The 2-finger tap is my “workaround”.

@Andreas_Hegenberg I did update the app today, not sure I missed one being available… I also reset the settings to default. It appears to be working now!
