macOS 27: Golden Gate

In my first tests BetterTouchTool seems to work fine with the first macOS 27 beta. The new glass effects and sidebar look much better than on Tahoe.

Please report bugs as usual

Amazing! Should we be on release or on alpha for the time being?

if you are on macOS 27, best always use alpha. I will be constantly fixing things as they are reported in the coming weeks.

So far most of BetterTouchTool seems to work fine on MacOS 27 for me.

Only thing I did notice is that the 'move space (without animation)' action seems to have regressed.

First I thought my trackpad actions weren't working anymore but after changing it to the default 'move space' actions it worked again. Not the most dealbreaking feature of course to probably most but in my opinion something that worked really nicely and somehow easier on the eye (feels like my eyes automatically follow the window moving in/out which is annoying )

Unfortunately Apple seems to be blocking programmatically generated swipe events intentionally on macOS 27. BTT has been using such (with a very high velocity) to simulate instant space switches. I'll check whether there is another way to achieve the same now (they mentioned they have been working on improving the space switching animation speed, maybe they added some new properties to control that behavior), but there might not be.

Alright good to know.
And thanks for looking into it.

Instant space switching is back on Golden Gate with BTT 6.571 (uploading, will be available in 10min)! Also the "Switch To Desktop X" actions now also support instant switching (experimental).

Just installed it but sadly don't see anything happening after initiating the action using either keyboard keybind or trackpad gesture. Just stays on the same space, could there be something else required for it to work again?

Btw I have updated to 6.571, and restarted BTT as well after doing so.
Also reset the keybinds for it (which I had changed back to the default "move \<direction\> a space")

mhh no change should be necessary. Do the instant space switch options for the "Switch To Desktop X" actions also not work on your machine?

I'll have another Golden Gate machine up and running in an hour, then I'll check on that as well. Could you maybe give some info about your Mac model and display setup?
Do the macOS trackpad gestures still work for you to switch spaces?

Fully restarted the system just to be sure nothing is wrongly cached or such.

The "Switch to Desktop X" actions also don't seem to work for me indeed but the base version (so not the instant space switch one of it) only works for moving to desktop 1 (while on desktop 2), trying to go to desktop 2 from desktop 1 does nothing

Mac model: MacBook Pro - M3 Max
OS: 27.0 (dev beta)
Display setup, mostly clamshell mode but to verify I also tried only the macBook screen with the same results
Trackpad gestures for default space switching does work so the 3 finger swipe left/right gesture which then calls the 'move x a space' (with then the native setting disabled for the trackpad in the system settings)

possibly that is the reason, could you check whether enabling this in system settings makes it work? (As BTT simulates these swipes to switch spaces, possibly this needs to be enabled on golden gate)

Alright I think that's it.
So currently have it set on 4 fingers in the system settings (since I have it set up with 3 fingers in BTT) and then it seems to work

One big bug though is that if I set it in the system settings to 3 fingers (which my BTT config also uses) then it fully breaks and only restores its functionality with swipe navigation after a restart of the macbook.

Thanks for testing! On my machines it seems to work fine if either the 3 finger or 4 finger swipe is enabled in system settings but there might be weird states when changing this.
