Describe the bug
I configured touchbar settings for LibreOffice (using macros and Claude - highly recommend) on a version of BTT several years old. Then I upgraded to latest version with a lifetime license. After installing the new license I lost all of my recent (pre-upgrade) configurations.
Online advice talks about tricks with the config file and restoring. But BTT disappeared from the Dock and no app window showed either. I could not quit from usual Force Quit menu because BTT did not show up there either.
My solution was to use Activity Monitor to force quit BTT, trash it, and reinstall from a web site download. Then my configs magically reappeared.
This should not happen, and needs to be fixed.

And while I am at it, I switched to LibreOffice because Nisus Writer shit the bed and issued license revocations as they are slowly dying and apparently couldn't or wouldn't keep my license valid.
We hope BTT will not fall into the same pit of disdain and dereliction at end of life.
As it is, we have no control over our license as archived by BTT.
