Logitech Mouse Horizontal Scrolling

I'm loving the Logitech mouse integration! I've successfully configured everything to match my previous Logi Options setup, with one exception:

In Logi Options, with my Logitech Lift mouse, I can press and hold mouse button 3 while scrolling to initiate horizontal scrolling (similar to holding Shift while scrolling, but more convenient in my opinion).

Is it possible to achieve the same functionality in BetterTouchTool?

This should work, but it will require the latest BTT alpha 6.069 (uploading now):

Basically on button 3 press the scroll modifier that switches between horizontal and vertical scrolling is being enabled, and on button 3 release it is disabled again:
button3_axis_switch.bttpreset (2.7 KB)

That looks interesting. Will it work with the current setup I have? I am using button 3 as a gesture button as well.

Click + Drag up = Mission Control

Click + Drag down = Expose

Click + Drag left = Switch a desktop left

Click + Drag right = Switch a desktop right

On Quick Click Release = Go back

Not sure if it would be compatible?

Thanks

You would additionally need to need to disable it again after long hold, then it should probably work

//edit: actually that's not needed. It should also work with just the standard release like in the preset I posted. The only thing is, if you release too quick it will also go back because of your quick release setup.

The first one you sent seems to work. I did it with mouse button 4 instead but it takes a while before it activates. Is there anyway to specify what is considered a long hold.

I have the following config:

  • Long Hold Down → enable configured trigger
  • Click Release After Long Hold → disable configured trigger
  • Click Release → 3F Swipe Right (page forward)
