Key to Resize Finder Column

I'm a huge fan of the window moving and resizing modifier keys. A similar action that I am always doing is manually resizing finder columns (option+double click isn't optimal for me for a few different reasons).
I am one that loves all that BTT offers and know that I only scratch the surface of its capabilities due to my own technical limitations and am wondering if this is a prime instance. Is there a way to identify a (modifier?) key that, when held, allowed for the manual resizing of a finder column?
Apologies if I'm missing something simple or obvious. TIA.

If you want to do it manually, you can do it without BTT. Just click, keep clicking and drag the column as wide as you want it. Or am I misunderstanding you?

By the way, i didn't even know that option+double click works

Thanks for the response, Frank. I am hoping that there may be an option to simply place my mouse somewhere within the column and be able to use a modifier key or some other function to manually drag & resize the column (or, if not within the column, maybe anywhere on the scroll bar🤷🏼‍♂️).

One thing that I love about the modifier keys to resize windows is the ability to resize a window by just hovering the mouse on the window & not having to click a very precise area. I'm wondering if there's a way to avoid the same thing when manually resizing a finder column--having to click a very precise area.

Mmm, usually the columns are not wide enough. Then you have to make them wider in each Finder window. Right?

I can only tell you how to make them wider permanently and for each new window.

While holding down the ⌥, click at the bottom of the first column and drag the column to the desired width.

Unfortunately I do not know more :man_shrugging:

Correct

This is good to know--while I knew about the double-click method, I didn't know about this. Thanks, Frank. Good teamwork
