I have a keyboard key remapping set. The problem is it frequently stops working. When I open BTT configuration window it starts working again, then after some time it stops and I need to refresh it the same way. It looks like some background activity gets killed. I don't see BTT on the macos App Background Activity list where I could allow it.
this does not require background activity. Do you maybe have any other keyboard related apps installed?
I used to use Karabiner, but I no longer use it. Is it possible that some leftovers after removing the app break BTT?
It looks like the issue was caused by leftover services from Karabiner. I reinstalled it and used the built-in uninstaller instead of removing files manually. Since then (several days), my BTT keyboard remapping has been stable. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Unfortunately the problem returned. It already happened twice that I had to open BTT configuration window to bring back my keyboard remapping
