Issue with Mouse Pointer Hover Events

After using the system for a while (approximately within half an hour), the mouse hover events for links in Chrome become non-functional. However, clicking the mouse can still open new links. I'm not sure if my description is clear, so I've included two screenshots: one showing normal functionality and the other showing the abnormal state.

When this issue occurs, simply opening the BetterTouchTool interface resolves the problem temporarily, but it reappears after continued use.

macOS Version: 15.0 (iMac 2019)
BetterTouchTool Version: 4.715
Additional Information: I encountered this issue with macOS 14, which led me to remain on version 13 for an extended period. I recently upgraded to 15. I have investigated other applications that might conflict with mouse control, including:

  • PopClip
  • Dropover
  • Input Source Pro

Unfortunately I haven't encountered / heard of something like this before (at least not with current BTT & macOS versions). Thus I think your idea that this could be a conflict with some other app might be true.
This could however be hard to track down as it sounds like something in the macOS event system goes wrong.

I currently can't think of anything helpful :-/

Before posting, I checked the forum for similar cases, but I didn’t find any feedback regarding comparable issues. It might just be an isolated incident, and I will continue to investigate the problem, especially since some apps I use no longer support macOS 13.

BTW, thank you for the outstanding work over the years! I have been using BetterTouchTool for over ten years, and it’s always the first app I praise when communicating with other Mac users. Today marks the first time I’ve encountered an unresolved issue and posted a topic in the forum, haha!
