Issue with 3-finger tap as middle click in Chrome

Hi,

I've set up the "3 Finger Tap" trackpad trigger to the "Middle Click" action for "All Apps". I use it to open link in a new tab in Chrome.

It works OK, however the trigger only occurs if I move the cursor after doing the 3-finger tap. If I just do the tap then nothing happens.

In other words:

  • Just do the 3-fingers tap: nothing happens, the link doesn't open in new tab.
  • Do the 3-finger tap then move the cursor on the trackpad: triggers correctly and link opens in new tab.

Are you able to confirm this bug?

**Affected input device:
MacBook Trackpad

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MBP
  • macOS version: 11.5.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.570

It seems to work fine here, without moving the mouse.

Do you maybe have three finger dragging enabled on your system?

Hi, and thanks for looking into it.

This is odd. It's working for me now, although I'm 100% that it didn't work previously. I had noticed this issue a number of times in the past. I'm not sure why it's working now - Maybe I restarted my computer but I can't recall for sure.

Anyhow, I think we can close this for now. I'll see if this issue arises again and if so, if I can gather more clues or steps to reproduce.

Hi there I can reproduce this, is there anything I can do to debug?
