Issue Saving and Restoring a Window’s Position Using Shortcuts

I am trying to create a shortcut that saves the current position of the active window, moves it to the center of the screen, and then allows me to return it to its original position with another shortcut. I can save the position and move the window to the center, but I am not sure if the shortcut is actually saving the window’s location correctly. When I try to restore the window, it does not return to its original position, such as the left or right corner. Is there a function that can reliably restore the window to its previous position, or is this not possible?

hi,

i was wondering anyone had any tips on this

Hey good point, there actually wee no simple ways to do this for a single window.

In 5.579 I added two new actions:

  • Save Focused WIndow Size & Position
  • Restore Saved Size And Position

Hi,

I realize that i could get these because setapp does not have that version and i'm only on Version 5.294. Would you please be able to push an update to setapp?

p.s. i had purchased a license before but i can't find it now. so i'm trying to recover it now.

do they update differently between different platforms?

the alpha is also available on setapp, you need to enable beta updates in the setapp settings to receive it.

However I'll also push a new stable release on Monday for the Tahoe release!
