is there any risk in using BTT shortcuts using Globe (Fn) key and the Caps (hyperkey)?

Caps Key (hyperkey)
I used to use Karabiner Elements a lot to customize the CAPS LOCK key, until following a mac os upgrade I was no longer able to boot which took me 3 days to solve (I was just about to bring my Mac to Apple, something I have never done). I found many similar reports in different forums, deleted Karabiner Elements and all is fine since that event about 3 years ago.

Fn (Globe) key
The Globe Key is not really a modifier key according to apple, and is called a hardware toggle among other things.

I would like to use the BTT keyboard shortcuts using the CAPS hyperkey and Globe key, but would like to be sure that problems such as the one with Karabiner Elements will not recur if I use these keys with BTT

thank you very much

Do you mean together, at the same time? Hyperkey + fn + letter?

Anyway, I use hyperkey + letter and fn + letter and never had a problem. :slightly_smiling_face:

BTT doesn't have any custom kernel extensions or drivers and in general works at a much higher level than Karabiner. This is makes it less powerful in some areas but also prevents things like this from happening - so no, with BTT it can not happen that your Mac won't boot anymore
