Is it possible to resize a window behind the dock

I have very small dock icons not disturbing any app when it is displayed on top, BUT, the UI wont let me expand past the doc edges, leaving a lot of space left and right unused. Any way to over rule this? Tanx.

AFAIK no, this only works if the Dock is set to auto-hide ;-(

no, that won’t help with this. The APIs do not allow to resize behind the dock
