Invisible, functional close button, despite it being disabled

Describe the bug
I have no use for the close button on the left of the Touch Bar, so I have it hidden in the BTT Touch Bar settings. While this works insofar as hiding the close button visually, it is still active and can be touched. I have a Dock widget on the far left of my bar, meaning anytime I try to open finder from BTT, I simply close the BTT bar. I previously used an empty button with a close symbol so I can use Finder from BTT, but this takes up quite a bit of real estate on the Touch Bar. Today the issue solved itself out of nowhere and I promptly scrapped the button to reclaim some space, but after adding two triggers the issue came back. I really don't like having that button on there, so any help is appreciated!

My workaround button can be seen above, as well as the amount of space it takes up.
