Installing Bettertouch is freezing Mac

Attempting to install Better touch freezes my Mac.

Right after the app asks that I go into settings and Privacy & accessibility, it freezes my Mac and I have to shut down computer. OSX 16.5.

Not sure what version of Bettertouch I just downloaded, since I can’t completely open it before if freezes my Mac. Did it two times and do not want to deal with it again. I’ve never had an app do this to may Mac, so I’m kind of set back as to trying it again even if this is fixed. I would attach a crash report as asked, but I see no Attachment button. All of this is very strange. Thanks Russ

Unfortunately this sounds like some weird macOS bug because no app should be able to freeze your Mac. However if the macOS permissions database is corrupted, stuff like this can happen.

You can try to reset permissions just for BTT with this terminal command, but if I understood correctly you had never even activated them, thus this might not help:

sudo tccutil reset All com.hegenberg.BetterTouchTool
