I can't pick BTT as a default system web browser

Describe the bug
According to the docs, "BetterTouchTool (starting with version 3.521) allows you to set it as default browser." BTT doesn't show in the list of default browser options in Settings -> General.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if there's an additional setting I need to enable to have BTT show as an option for default browser.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
N/A - or I don't know what it'd be.

  • macOS version: Monterey 12.1
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.278

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

This can currently only be done in the settings of the "Did Open URL" trigger in the "Automations, Named & Other Triggers" section:

Thanks! I’ll try this and report back here.

Clicking this button has no effect for me. I've tried quitting apps and changing my default browser manually, but I cannot select BTT as my default browser via System Preferences or other ways.

same problem
pressing button in app - set bettertouchtool default browser has no effect and no actions are triggered when I open url that matches that trigger ((
hasn't this been fixed ?
