Hyperkey w/ Caps Lock - doesn't seem to register Hyperkey + other key combos

Trying to generate some keyboard shortcuts using Hyperkey as configured in BTT.

It seems to be set up correctly - have a "Caps Lock" shortcut set to be the Hyperkey. That being said, when trying to make other shortcuts based on the new Hyperkey shortcut, it only registers the CMD+OPT+SHIFT+CTRL, and will not register the next key press (ie. Caps Lock + 1 to generate some trigger).

What am I doing wrong here?

Note that you need to press all 4 modifier keys + the next key (e.g. - 1) when recording a shortcut and not simply press Caps Lock (if I understand you are doing exactly this, right?).
