Hyperkey Alternative (to try out)

I have set up a simple Hyperkey alternative for those who want to try it. It assumes that Caps Lock has NOT been remapped (to right control).

Hyper + A is set up as an example

Press "Caps Lock" (Hyper) and hold + A shows the hud “Hyper + A”.

Caps Lock (upper case) is activated/deactivated by double tapping “shift”. Activated = green light.

This works perfectly here. I hope I have exported everything correctly :slightly_smiling_face:

Hyper DOWN.bttpreset (1.4 KB)
Hyper UP.bttpreset (2.0 KB)
CAG Hyper_export.bttpreset (4.6 KB)
CapsLock ON:OFF.bttpreset (4.1 KB)

Hi @Frank1 thanks for this. Can you maybe explain a little how this is supposed to work? I set my caps lock back to caps lock (from right control). Hyper DOWN blocks the keyboard, and I assume the CAG options needs to then be set but to what value, where can I adjust the keys for each app?

Hm, I think I got this working, by adding single keystrokes to CAG Hyper conditional group. But ran into a problem. Before I use HYPER+Key for actions and HYPER-UP (when no other keys were pressed) to activate Alfred. I add keys to the CAG Hyper, but how can I conditionally run alfred if no keys were pressed? I tried adding the Alfred trigger to [Hyper UP] but it just always activates?

Hi @iandol , ah yes, your Alfred thing
That works with an additional key sequence. Not perfect though. Sometimes you have to tap twice. I don't know why.

Hyper single tap (alone).bttpreset (3.0 KB)

The alternative would be long press. That always works. I have set the time to 1s. But you can of course adjust this. Hold the key until you see the hud.

Hyper long press (alone).bttpreset (3.1 KB)
