How to take a screenshot with BTT and pin the image on the screen for easy comparison of multiple pictures?

Not sure if I understand your question correctly. There is a predefined pin action. So take a screenshot and then pin it. In my case you can recognize a pinned window by the blue border.

Hello, louishino.

I may not be of any help, since I've no idea how to do that using BTT.

But you may want to have look at a free app called Snipaste, which can do just that perfectly. And a lot, a lot more (recall previously taken snips and areas of capture, not to speak of annotating shots). I use it a hundred times a day, it occupies my F1 key, and I cannot praise it enough.

@Mark_K This seems to be a useful app. But did you know that BTT can pin any window of any app? That seems to me to be even more useful than just pinning screenshots :slightly_smiling_face:

For example: This sequence of actions waits until the screenshot window is active and then pins it. If necessary, the window could then be automatically moved to another location on the screen.

Hey, Frank1!

Thank you for the reply!

Yeah, I know BTT can do that. The funny thing is that I have a dedicated utility to pin windows on my Windows machine, yet — never had the need to do that on the mac. I honestly wonder what that could tell us :woman_shrugging::person_cartwheeling::nail_care: ...

Interesting idea! do you want to do something similar to Cleanshot X? Maybe the solution could involve creating multiple small snap areas on the left side of the screen and then pinning things into those areas?

Hi Mark, it tells me that you are doing more important things with your Windows machine. :slightly_smiling_face:

If you are using BTT's clipboard manager you can use this button to detach & float multiple screenshots from your clipboard:

Very nice! I didn't know that.

Edit: But is there a way to display this pinned window of the current clipboard without opening the Clipboard Manager and clicking on this icon? I mean a shortcut?

I could imagine a predefined action “show current clipboard in pinned window”

Thanks! I just want to use BTT to make this feature work.

Oh, it seems like you've updated the clipboard feature a lot lately! But I've held off on using it because I'm worried about performance — I've noticed other similar apps can really slow things down.
