How to order buttons and deal with overlapping buttons?

I am sure this is probably a very easy one to do but for the life of me, I can't work it out!

How do I rearrange the ordering of buttons on my Touch Bar? I can't seem to arrange things in the order I want. I'd like to move the ESC key to the very left!

You will also notice, the lock screen is sitting underneath the next button to the right. Is there a way to fix this?

The new version has a "Display Order" field for Touch Bar items where you can enter a number. The lower numbers will be shown first.
