Since updating from Intel 2019 MacBook pro to m4 max I have not been able to get bettertouchtool to work.
Please help.
The notification I get on application start up; “BetterTouchTool is currently disabled. You can enable it via the menubar status icon or in the settings.”
I have looked through settings and bettertouchtool is enabled.
Also I have no menubar for BTT. In the settings for menubar I do not see a way to reenable the menubar.

If you have disabled the BTT menubar icon the only way to enable/disable BTT is via the global app:
I just experienced this unexpected notification as well. No idea what caused it. I couldn't find the setting to enable/disable BTT so I came looking for troubleshooting help here on the forum. Fortunately I got BTT working again following Andreas' screenshot.

- Alpha: 0 update(s) behind latest Alpha version 6.203 (2026021708).
- Regular: Installed version is ahead of latest Regular version 6.176.
