I just bought BTT. I mainly want to use the clipboard manager, on a Macbook pro with no touch bar. Ideally there would be a menu bar item I could click to view the history. Is that possible? Or can it only be a floating menu? On the initial setup, should I set it up via "BTT Clipboard manager" or "Finder"?
easiest would be to set up e.g a keyboard shortcut or touchpad gesture and assign the predefined action “show clipboard manager”
This would be done in the “all apps” section. The clipboard manager section is for customizing the shortcuts that can be used while the clipboard manager is active.
You can also configure a menubar icon that shows the clipboard manager. I can post an example for that later (not on my mac right now)
Here is an example preset, you can download and import it:
clipboard_manager_example.bttpreset.bttpreset (4.7 KB)
It adds two things:
1.) a menubar icon that shows the clipboard manager when clicked. It's configured like this:
2.) a keyboard shortcut, ctrl+opt+cmd+C to show/hide the clipboard manager
The imported one didn't seem to do anything, but setting it up from scratch like you show seems to have worked. There are a dizzying amount of options! My setup looks like the pic linked below. I imported an icon image from disk, but it doesn't display that, it only displays the background color. Why is that?
there seems to be some sort of refresh issue when previously a different icon type was used
Try to disable & enable the item again (cmd+d) or restart BTT.
That worked, thanks! Now I have to dig in and learn how to us sme of the other functions. Thanks again.
