I have installed the Example preset provided with the Manage Menubar Status Items using BTT 1.
I am reading through the thread---is it the longest thread in BTT's history?---and got to 90 out of 350.
If I'm not mistaking the current solution provides two mechanisms:
clicking the BTT icon expands in place
hovering over the menubar in a specific area displays the BTT palette with icons underneath.
While looking at the solution in BTT, how these two actions (actually 3 considering the auto-hiding) are implemented. I'd appreciate any hints to learn more about how it works.
In general I'd recommend to use the "Move Mouse To Top Edge" and "Move Mouse Away From Top Edge" triggers from the "automations, named & other triggers" section in BTT.
The use case 1 you described what was initially available, by now you can also use custom menubar items and assign the predefined action "Hide Menu Bar Status Items Left Of Specific Item"
Maybe describe what you want to achieve then I can give a better response
I was just trying to understand how the preset works as I don't see any explicit actions being defined in BTT after importing it.
There is the:
"Menubar Item" in "Automations & Named & Other Triggers".
the 2 Floating menus in "Custom Flowing Menus & Desktop Widgets"
None of these seem to have any attached actions.
For the 1st, I was wondering if the expand/collapse on click is a default action implemented inside the "Show/Hide Menu Bar Icons Items Left Of Specific Icon"
For the 2nd, what triggers the display/hide of the overflowing palette?
