How Can I Make Cmd + Scroll Act Like Option + Scroll?

Hey guys,

I'm really hoping someone can help me out here because I've tried everything I can think of, and nothing is working. On Windows, I use AutoHotkey to make things like this happen easily, but on mac, I just can't seem to figure it out.

Here's what I need: I want to make Cmd + Scroll Wheel behave exactly like Option + Scroll Wheel. Meaning, when I hold Cmd and scroll, I want the system to register it as if I'm holding Option and scrolling instead.

I need this switch because I use a video editing software where zooming in and out of the timeline requires holding Alt + Scroll Wheel. This feels really unnatural for me having always used cmd + scrool to zoom in/out, which is why I want to bind it to cmd + Scroll Wheel instead. Unfortunately, the software doesn’t offer internal key modifier options for this, so I have to rely on a third-party app to make it work.

I've tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. Is this something that's achievable with BetterTouchTool? If so, how ? I already tried but couldnt find a solution yet.

unfortunately I think this will be hard to achieve with BetterTouchTool as this requires lower level remapping :frowning:

Most likely you can achieve this with the app "Karabiner Elements"
