Horizontal Scroll trigger with Logitech mouse

Describe the bug

  1. I assign an action to the "Scroll Left" and "Scroll Right" triggers.
  2. BTT correctly captures the scroll event when I create the trigger/action!
  3. BTT fails to recognize the scroll event when I try to trigger the action.

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
Logitech MX Master 3 mouse.

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: Macbook Pro 2017
  • macOS version: 10.15
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.374

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

When I uninstall Logitech Options (which disables several buttons on the mouse), BTT functions correctly with the horizontal scroll events. I would blame this entirely on Logitech, except for the fact that BTT captures the horizontal scroll event when creating the trigger/action. It fails otherwise, but since it can capture the horizontal scroll event sometimes, I am classifying it as a bug that it doesn't capture it all the time.

I confirm the same happens with my MX Master 3 mouse.

This is affecting every mouse that uses Logitech Options and Logitech G Hub. Essentially, the right and left scroll actions are detectable during configuration, but not for actions defined in config.

at least on the machines I tested with this settings seems to resolve this:

However it doesn't seem to work with all configurations.

So, I checked that box and restarted BTT. There is a change in behavior, but only when BTT is the focused application. Specifically, my screen has some sort of flash. I'm a new user so I am unable to upload videos here, but it's like a near instant 70%, white overlay, followed by an immediate, 300ms fade out to my normal screen.
