Function-key shortcut doesn't work in 2.835

Describe the bug
Before I updated to 2.835, I had three keyboard shortcuts: fn-A mapped to the up-arrow key, fn-Z mapped to the down-arrow key, and fn-` mapped to ESC. After the update, these no longer work: fn-A just prints A, etc. (When I update to 2.843, the program crashes entirely, but that's a separate bug.)

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

  • macOS version: 10.13.6
  • BetterTouchTool version: 2.835

Additional information (e.g. StackTraces, related issues, screenshots, workarounds, etc.):

Note: Before bug reporting, please make sure you have the latest version of BetterTouchTool and that you have already tried to restart your system :-). If you encounter a crash, please attach a crash log from the macOS Console.app from the "User Diagnostic Reports" section.

Still a problem in 2.846.

Function key based shortcuts only work if no app has activated "Secure Input" AND if you have disabled "Always Use Old Keyboard Implementation" in the keyboard preferences in BTT. (It's disabled by default so that's probably not it.)

Does BTT show any secure input message when clicking its menubar icon?
