Frequent stuttering

Describe the bug
I'm experiencing input lag. When typing, there'll be ~1 second of lag, after which the typed keystrokes will be entered quickly. I've tried restarting, booting into safe mode, resetting NVRAM/PRAM, the only thing that works is closing BetterTouchTool

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):
Any keyboard input (internal, external wired, external bluetooth). Trackpad remains responsive, but sometimes clicks are not registered.

I also experience the same lag. When I quit the BTT, that lag disappeared.

OS 10.15.6
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
CPU intel Core i5
Mem: 8GB

When I disabled the synch setting (dropbox), that lag disappeared, so far.
