You basically need to use the display order option if you merge multiple App/CAGs:

No, I mean I've placed for example For All Apps Trackpad triggers like below, ordered by number of fingers. But if I go to an App or CAG the order of triggers is different(unordered the way I expect):
Regardless of "for all apps" or CAG/App, all items in BTT will be displayed in the order you dragged them to. BTT UI doesn't know about 1/2/3 finger etc.
So I need to order the triggers per APP/CAG beside the order in For All APPS, correct? And doing so will not mess up the order in For All Apps?
Yes they are completely separate entities.

Maybe I misunderstand what you are trying to do.
Reordering items that are specific to other apps or cags can not influence the order of items in "For All Apps" as they don't know about each other.

yes, seems that for some reason the sorting/placement order are not behaving independantly
the only way this could happen is if the exact same object somehow managed to be added to both apps/caregories, i.e. some sort of database corruption. However then changing any other property of the item (like actions or gesture type) would also change it in both places
any way to validate/fix the database(s)?
you'd first need to figure out whether it is really a database issue, do the gestures change in both places when you change one of them? (not the order, any property)

The 2 screenprints posted are from For All Apps Trackpad triggers. As you can see the triggers and seperators differ in order. The case is that I've not changed the order for these triggers in For All Apps Trackpad triggers.
Yes, but when did the order change? I assumed it was after you reordered items in some other place.
yes I reordered in Apps and or CAGs, but the triggers in them are not the same as the triggers in for For All Apps. I noticed the change this morning.
reverted to a backup for now.
