Hi! I’ve been using BetterTouchTool’s floating views for a while, and recently I noticed a change in behavior that I’m not sure is intentional or a bug.
Previously, when I triggered a floating view, it would appear on top of any window, including maximized and full-screen apps. However, lately, the floating view doesn’t show up at all when I’m on a full-screen or maximized window. It only shows when I'm on a regular (non-maximized) desktop window.
I’m wondering:
- Was there a change in how floating views behave in recent updates?
- Is there a setting I might be missing that affects this behavior?
- Has anyone else experienced this?
I’m currently on:
- macOS 15.4.1
- BTT version v5.408

I've been having similar issues for a while, it seems to happen more often (or possibly exclusively) with app specific menus.
Are you talking about the "floating menus"? If yes - what's the floating menu's window level?
Or are you talking about "Floating WebView/HTML Menu", in this case I think you need to check the Z-index:
I think it's an accidental change unrelated to the z-index that prevents floating menus from joining fullscreen window spaces. I'm checking right now. I think I was about to make this configurable but forgot about it
With 5.422 it should join fullscreen windows again, unless this is enabled:
Awesome, thanks for the update! This seemed to happen right around the launch of macOS 15.4 for me... so I just assumed it was yet another bug that Apple introduced. How long does it normally take app updates to appear via Setapp?
