BTT 5,516 and macOS Sonoma14,7,6
I have configured a floating menu that I want to be always positioned like this: its top right corner must be positioned at the top right corner of the focused screen. It's one column. Menu size of FM and its items are set to fit content.
These are the screenshots of the configuration:
What I am experiencing is that I need to close and open the menu once or twice to position correctly the FM. It seems that it is not updating correctly its position by itself.
I have tried to enable/disable "Only update position when requested" but the result is the same, no difference.
Here is a video of the behaviour, where I close/open the FM with a shortcut. Am I doing something wrong or is it an issue?
Hallo @jordikt ,
great !
Is the idea of this menu to be able to load your favourite plugins into the track depending on which "type" of track (Vocal, Guitar etc) has been selected ?
Thx,
Christian
This FM shows the names of the plugins inserted in slots 1-6 of the selected track. Clicking the button opens the plugin window.
Ah, ok. I am on Ableton. Not sure how i could get that retrieved from Ableton.
The problem is most likely with the "fit content" option. BTT currently doesn't recalculate the position automatically if the window size changes due to the fit content option
I'll check if I can add this. For now, maybe you can use a fixed size?
AFAIK, it's easier in Ableton that in Cubase. Anyway, I would say that the management of plugins in Live is good enough, I don't find necessary a floating menu in Ableton for this.
Yes, I have changed the items to fixed size and the container to fit content. It's pretty good now, I will leave it like this.
yes, it might be a bit of overkill...
I build a little menu to quickly load my favourite plugins...
toggle visibility, then load items with keys 1..8
wow!
Love it!
Could you share how you did it??
yes, sure,
here we go: Live FavMenu.bttpresetzip (3.1 MB)
a couple of remarks:
Live 12 need to be in focus/open (some configurtion in BTT is app specific)
toggle visibility with Fn+Ctrl+F
use keys "1" to "8" to trigger a button (or mouse click)
"x" to close menu
as you have different plugins you need to adjust the names to search for - see below.
The "search and load" is done in the Named Trigger "SearchVST", you might need to adjust the delays in there, as your machine might be faster to find a VST/plugin.
important keys 1..8
As the keys 1..8 are trigger buttons (only if menu is visible) you need to close the menu if you want to use 1..8 in Ableton itself (for naming tracks for example).
I jump with 1..8 to my 8 track markers in Ableton, so that will only work if the menu is closed.
Thanks a lot @Max_Megalon !!!
