Could it be that the data of a deleted icon and background images is not deleted ?
I have removed an icon here:
and when checking (⌘+c) that icon / image data appears to be still there ?
Device information:
the bttalternateicondata property currently contains the cached, rendered preview of the menu item (not the BTTMenuItemImage).
I have not yet really decided whether it should be exported / imported. Probably I'll leave it out for the stable release.
(the base64 looks similar at the beginning because the header of every png file is the same)
