First Post: BST stopped working after migration to Sonoma

I tried searching the forum for a solution but was unable to find one, sorry if this is a redundant post.

I have been a satisfied user of BetterSnapTool on Yosemite (on an Intel-based MacBook Pro 2019) for about a year. Using multiple monitors, and had defined five snap areas across the two monitors. All working perfectly. As a late-upgrader, I finally migrated to Sonoma 14.2.1 last night. And BST no longer functions on it.

I have uninstalled the application completely, and then reinstalled. I have double-checked permissions in System Settings / Privacy & Security / Accessibility.

Symptomatically, when I drag a window into my predefined snap areas. The outline of the snap area appears on the screen as normal. But as soon as I release the menu bar, the window won't resize or snap. Visually, it appears the snap area is defined and the window "wants" to resize, but it won't.

Can you point me in the direction of a fix? Thanks in advance.

Tim

try to completely delete the app from there, then add it back manually. Sometimes the macOS database gets corrupted.

Completely deleted and reinstalled - three times. After the third time and restart, yes all was working for the rest of the evening. Notice the past tense...upon restart the next morning, it's stopped working again.

All the same behavior - drag window will display the preset window zones, but nothing works when you try to drop the window into the preset window zone.

I can certainly try to uninstall, delete, lather rinse repeat...but what the heck is going on?

unfortunately I don't know, I don't think there have been similar reports . It sounds like macOS has some permission error.
You could try to reset the macOS accessibility database using this terminal command (make sure to not have any unsaved work open):

sudo tccutil reset Accessibility
