Export/Import very broken

Describe the bug

I think that some time between 4.356 and 4.316, the export and/or import of presets broke. Now when I export a preset and import it on another mac, many keyboard shortcuts are missing, some shortcuts are at the top rather than inside a folder, folders are empty, etc.

I have two options that work:

  • Run the latest 4.488 and import my backed-up presets exported using 4.204 (but not by 4.403 or later)
  • Run 4.316 and import my latest preset exported using 4.479

What a dilemma :frowning:

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook M1 Max
  • macOS version: macOS 14.4 (Sonoma) MacBookPro18,2 (ARM64)
  • BetterTouchTool version: 4.479

could you send a recent preset export that doesn’t work to me - andreas@folivora.ai ? (i’m using presets many times a day so I guess you are running into a very specific problem)

If 4.316 works, can’t you just upgrade from that? (without reimport)

Thank you! I think I found a/the issue.

Could you try importing the preset you sent with v4.491? (uploading now)

Upgrading did work actually!
But it also means that I lose all my settings for the new features from the import, e.g. whether to show/hide a keyboard shortcut in the Cheat Sheet. Not a big deal, but not ideal.
