Entire OS sudden keys omitted, lags and frozen

Hello,
I was working as usual on my macbook when all of a sudden I noticed some of the keys I was pushing were not written down.

Then I notices this happened in a kind of cyclic way every few seconds.
This applied to all keys but it seems space bar, tab and delete keys are particularly affected, meaning that they are skipped more often (I'm not 100% sure of this).

I tough it was any of my opened apps capturing my keyboard, but closing ALL them didn't help.
I restarted my mac but that still happened.
Then I quit BTT and keyboard started to work normally again.

When this happened I did not add or modified any existing btt configuration.
The only maybe correlated things was that BTT was open (settings window) and it had been like that for a couple of days maybe.
Then I closed that window (BTT still active, not quitted) and this problem showed up.

I disabled ALL my triggers, gestures and shortcuts and problems still occurred.

I was on the version before 6.977
I am now on 6.977 because I've updated in hope of fixing it.

The only solution is to entirely quit BTT or my entire OS will stop listening to keys every 2 or 3 seconds so I can't really use it all.

have you tried to restart your machine? (this can e.g. happen if some system service takes a long time to respond, maybe some process froze/got stuck)

If this does not help, try to get a spindump of the BTT process

sudo spindump BetterTouchTool 10 -file ~/Desktop/btt-spindump.txt

Most likely this is not a BTT issue but caused by some external thing, but that spindump should show more details. You can send it to andreas@folivora.ai
