Just tried setting up Custom Move / Resize Window to my middle mouse button.
In my understanding this should allow me to select a window, move my mouse to another monitor, then middle click and the window moves there full screen (100%).
However in practice it keeps jumping back to its original position?
Any suggestions please?
Many Thanks!
PS - I'm on Sonoma 14.2.1 and using BTT Version: 4.826
Best post your custom move / resize configuration, then I can tell what's wrong!
can I send an attachment here?
Thanks!
Yes you can drag or paste images in here or use the file upload icon to attach a zip file.
If you actually want to change the position of the window you need to check the "Really Move The Window's X ..." same for Y position.
Thanks for the reply, I tried as you suggested and the active window does move to the screen under the mouse but as sson as I release it jumps back? Here are my new settings:
You don't want to offset it by any value. Just use the absolute positioning and enter 0 as offset
It means "Place the center of the window at the center of the screen with the mouse cursor. Offset by 0 (i.e. do not offset)"
Superb! Thanks again Andreas - works perfectly now!
Best Wishes,
Craig.
One issue though is that the window is not 100% on the new screen but I think still has the dimensions of the screen it came from.
Can this be fixed?
Thanks!
In your screenshot you have only enabled the option to change the height to 100% but not the width. Once you enable that for width as well it should work fine!
I tried 100% in bothe for Relative to screen but it only ends up filling one screen fully - the others have space around?
Ah with some screen setups it is possible this fails on first try due to API limitations. In that case try to duplicate your move / resize action (copy & paste) and add a little delay between (0.1s is enough)
Did as you said and while it works perfectly, when trying to use it with a browser/chrome window I get this strange flapping at the bottom of the screen?
that is unfortunately necessary (it's basically the second try) that will work. You might be able to get it look a bit nicer by modifying the first resizing action to just move the window to the screen, and use the second action to resize it.
Thanks for your help Andreas - I think I'll have to make do for the moment with the flapping.
Best Wishes,
Craig.
