Hi,
Am on MacOS Sequoia 15.6, BTT 5.468 (current latest version).
I would like to create a custom launchpad where I only have certain apps that I can organize the way I want.
Is there a faster way to accomplish this then creating a custom floating menu?
I have not found but before getting into a custom menu was wondering if someone found a better way to accomplish this.
Thanks for the help to anybody who puts a single thought/second into this!
I assume the quickest way to do this is via a conflict menu.
Edit: Ah, if you don't know how to do that, just assign the same shortcut to all apps.
But a custom menu is better (not a floating menu). You can be more creative there. ![]()
I'm not 100% sure, but pretty sure that the closest to Launchpad is using floating menus.
Yes I'd always use floating menus for this, here is an example preset (shows by pressing ctrl+opt+cmd+L )
app-launcher.bttpresetzip (67.1 KB)
In v5.560 alpha I have enabled a function that I have used in the past: you can now drop app's onto the item preview of a floating menu item to use its icon:
Thank you so much. You saved me tons of time on design and structure. Love it!
Have a nice day!
Is it possible to create something similar, but so that the list includes all the applications/files/folders from the given folder?
The easiest way would be to use the folder widget, however that currently requires double-clicks to open the apps. I could add options to change that behavior.
Example preset:
folder-widget-menu.bttpreset (16.8 KB)
In theory you can also create a menu that is defined by a script, however that is significantly more complicated:
Example preset:
app-launcher2.bttpresetzip (44.5 KB)
It creates an app cache json in ~/Library/Application Support/BetterTouchTool/app-cache.json when BTT is launched:
