Crash on M1 Mac mini

Hi, I'm trying to remap VOL-/+ keys to ALT-SHIFT-VOL-/+ to have better control of the volume of my Mac mini but I'm not able to do it.

If I try to enter the shortcut, ALT-SHIFT are overwritten by the VOL key and, immediately after BTT crashes.

Edit: I've already tried the Volume (small step) options bu they don't work. Nothing happens when I press the keys.

  • Type of Mac: M1 Mac mini 8GB
  • macOS version: Big Sur 11.5.2
  • BetterTouchTool version: 3.579 (1722)

try to check the „prevent recursive triggers“ checkbox for the shortcut in BTT.

I've tried it but nothing changes.
After a while I press volume buttons the system slows down. As soon as I quit BTT all the volume commands trigger immediately (with correct "small steps"). But they don't work as soon as BTT is in execution.

Same if I disable the shortcuts. They process immediately. Really strange....

Update: I was able to make it work with Karabiner.

Great! Karabiner is much better for such key remapping because it works at a lower level than BTT.
