This has proven to be the single most difficult thing I have attempted to setup in several decades. Shockingly insanely impossible - PLEASE help. I am literally at the point of offering $50 to whomever will remote into my mac mini and get this working permanently. I have literally lost an entire week to this issue. Gemini nor Claude can figure this out!
I have a Mac Mini M4. It has a microphone. It has a wireless dongle mouse and keyboard from Logi. I have Whispr Flow voice to text software. The microphone and whispr flow work perfectly when the keyboard strokes defined in whispr flow are triggered on the keyboard.
I want to be able to hold down the left and right mouse buttons together and have turn the microphone on and then press those same buttons again to turn the microphone off - so “Hands Free” mode in Whispr Flow triggered by L and R mouse buttons.
I also want to be able to hold down the center mouse button and have the microphone be active when the center button is held down. So “hold to talk” mode for whispr flow triggered by holding the center mouse button down.
I did have this all setup and working using Steermouse. But while I could get it to work fine it would NEVER stay working fine. IT would randonly stop working - no clue or any idea at all why - and to get it to work again I would have to go into Apple System Settings - Privacy & Security - Accessibility and there turn off Steermouse and wait a minute or so and then turn it back on. Usually that would work but not always. Sometimes you have to reboot the computer and then do the Steermouse on/off thing. REGARDLESS – after 5 days of on again off again nightmare I gave up on Steermouse.
So now using Better Touch Tool and so far ZERO success getting any of this to work at all. I cannot get the mouse to trigger or toggle the microphone AT ALL so far no matter what I try.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE – Any help is greatly appreciated. Open to offers to exchange money for a REAL PERMANENT SOLUTION.
Thank You
