I am trying to trigger a context menu item for selected files in Qspace Pro. There is a very high probability that I won’t have navigated to the files with the mouse, so the cursor is not likely to be over the files I want to trigger the context menu for. The ‘Trigger Context Menu Item’ action works if the mouse is over the files, it opens a context menu at the cursor position. But ‘Press Context Menu Key (Show Context Menu For Selected Items)’ action doesn’t seem to do anything. I’ve tested that action in both Finder and QSpace Pro and nothing happens in either. Is this a bug with that action, or am I doing something wrong?
Is there a work around to move the cursor to the current selection? I can’t figure a way to do that either.
Press Context Menu Key (Show Context Menu For Selected Items)’ that action requires macOS 15 and the apps must support it (it simulates the key that was added last year)emphasized text
You can use the „show context menu for selection“ action on older systems
Ah, I’m still on MacOS 14, so that wouldn’t work in that case. But I don’t see ‘Show Context Menu for Selection”. It doesn’t appear to be in my list of actions so I assumed it had been replaced by this action. I was using BTT 6.325, but I just updated to the latest but no change there. Here is a screenshot of what I see when I search ‘context’.
I don’t have that under keyboard keys. I don’t have an action named that at all! If I search the word context then only the results in my screenshot above come up. Certainly all the research I’d done before getting to the point of posting here suggest the action I want was called “Show Context Menu for Selected Item” but that doesn’t appear to be an option for me
