Connect Bluetooth Device action stopped working a few months ago

I used to use a keyboard shortcut which would execute the 'Connect Bluetooth Device: xxxxxx' but it is no longer working

Airpods, Magic Keyboard, Mouse

I have a pair of AirPods currently connected but they do not appear in the connected device menu, which may be linked to the problems:

Check Bluetooth access for BTT in the system settings. I found it disabled, I think it might have happened after the update
