Configuring Continuous Gestures (Volume + Window Switching) like on Windows

Hi everyone,

I recently switched to a Mac with a trackpad and would like to replicate two gestures I used on my old PC with Better Touch Tool.

1. Continuous Volume Control with 4 Fingers

On my old PC, swiping up/down with 4 fingers allowed me to continuously increase or decrease the volume (without stepping). In BTT, I’ve tried the “repeat action” option, but it only adjusts the volume in increments (1, 2, or 3 steps at a time). What I’m looking for is a setting that simulates a held-down action as long as the gesture is maintained.

2. Switching Windows with 3 Fingers (Left/Right)

On my old PC, I could quickly switch windows or select a specific window by swiping 3 fingers left or right. I’ve seen that Alt-Tab offers a similar feature, but I’d prefer to integrate it directly into BTT for a smoother experience.

  • Question: Is there a configuration in BTT that could emulate these behaviors?

Thanks so much for your help! (See the attached video below for a demo of both gestures.)

Hi @mrkali,

Pretty sure both of these have been discussed previously here in the community. Sorry that I'm not answering directly, but at least hope that this helps a bit.

I am pretty sure (1) does not work - source: 4 finger scroll

For (2) you may wanna give the BTT Window Switcher a try, this should solve your UseCase.
