Conditional activation group cannot detect persistent variable after relaunch

Hello! It looks like conditional activation groups can't detect persistent variables after BTT relaunches (e.g. after the computer wakes from sleep). I can still retrieve the variable via get_string_variable, so the value itself definitely persists. I've tried creating a new conditional activation group, deleting the conditions and re-setting them, etc. but that didn't do anything. Screenshot below:
