Command+W doesn't work properly

---I have set up 3 fingers swipe up = command +W on Finders to close the current viewing window/item but when I do the window blinks and it doesn't close. it some times works but 99% it doesn't. what could it be?

***3 fingers swipe up the Finders App works(closes) BUT not the current viewing window

Affected input device (e.g. MacBook Trackpad, Magic Mouse/Trackpad, Touch Bar, etc.):

--- Mac latest version

Device information:

  • Type of Mac: MacBook Air
  • macOS version: 15.5
  • BetterTouchTool version: (please post the exact version - not just "the latest one") 5468

maybe some other app (or BTT) has keyboard focus? Does pressing cmd+w on the keyboard work?

what do you mean keyboard focus? and yes cmd+w works

definitely a bug in BTT and Finder.

If my fingers are parallel (2mm) with the trackpad as I swipe it works but still not 100% I have to swipe several times then it closes.

Note: I have the save trigger for safari to close a tab and that works fine, no problem. so its definitely BTT and Finder

can you check what BTT‘s recently used section is showing when this happens?

I‘m pretty sure something different than cmd+w is triggered, because I can’t think of any situation where cmd+w would lead to a blinking window instead of closing it

wow ok so I looked at the recently used section and there was another trigger added to cmd+w which it doest show when I look at the Finder triggers. see below. So I disable the added trigger and everything is fine now.

Also what is the "For All Apps: 1 finger Double tap"? I haven't assign this.

the 1 finger double tap is configured in the „all apps“ section. It is in a different preset (hover over the colored left side to see which preset)

Thank you.

Curious why does BTT doesn't show the added trigger in the Finder's section?

hard to tell, could e.g. be in a preset that‘s hidden from the UI. But also the recently used section shows the trigger being configured for Preview - not Finder.
