I have reassigned one of my mouse clicks as a double click, when press it, it double clicks once, but if I cilck it again it doesn't work as another double click – it seems to unclick the first click. This is most evident when I'm highlighting text, for example normally if you double click a word in macOS, it highlights the word, if youd double click again it will highlight the paragraph.
