Can I use long press right mouse button for smooth scroll / pan while keeping normal drag functionality?

Hello,

I love a new free pan function added in builtd 6.884. I would like to use it when I press right mouse button for a half second, while still keeping normal drag when the press is shorter. Free pan option would trigger only with the long press while the cursor beeing stationary. I thought I did set it up correctly, but the free pan function triggers instantly, regardless how much delay I set. I also use right mouse button for drawing gestures but even when it is not in use, the problem remains. I use Integra mouth mouse, which can only send left or right mouse press. Therefore, I cant use any modifiers.

Do you have any ideas why it doesn't work as it as expected ?

Thank you very much

this is an interesting idea. I have done some experiments in 6.987. Could you try this new option?

The version will be available via alpha update in about 10 minutes

Hi Andreas,

Amazing ! It works as I hoped. Only now, for some reason, I cannot drag with right button, it seems only a click it's performed when I hold and drag it faster than set threshold. But drawing gestures works perfectly now. I don't use both functions simultaneously. Do you have an idea why it currently doesn't perform normal draging?

Thank you a million times

What exactly do you mean by normal dragging? Where are you using a right-mouse drag ?

Mostly for CAD and medical imaging software where it is used to rotate 3D objects, while scrolling is used for zooming and going through slices. If I could differentiate these two functions only based on RMB press time, it would be very efficient for me.

could you check whether 6.989 solves this?

Sorry it does work now. I forgot to set the minimum time button has to be pressed in the first step.. Wonderful, thank you so so much !
