I own a Logitech MX4 mouse and would like to double click the “ringbutton” and BTT should then execute Command + W (⌘+W).

the click recorder field in BTT allows you to record double, triple and quadruple clicks, so if you want to close the tab when double-clicking you'd create an app-specific mouse click setup for Chrome:
This example is with double-right-click because I currently don't have a multi-button mouse with me but works with any button:
