Can BTT find the music tab?

This is probably a lost cause, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

I often have a lot of windows/tabs (really a lot) open in different browsers. Then suddenly music starts playing or someone starts talking.

It can be incredibly tedious to find that tab to turn off the sound.

Can BTT solve this somehow? I have no idea; go to the tab that’s making noise and getting on my nerves... :joy:

which browsers are you using? it is possible but depends on the browsers

I mainly use Vivaldi and Brave. Does it work with these browsers?

Hi @Frank1, a while ago I created a Chromium browser extension that enables the ability to automatically navigate to and cycle through browser tabs that are playing audio. I just published it on Github:

You could install this extension on Vivaldi and Brave and then with a little scripting in BTT you could achieve your goal, if I'm understanding it correctly.

Thanks @fortred2 :folded_hands:

I'm not exactly sure how to do that, but I'll take a look. If I don't understand it, I'll be happy to get back to you.

In Brave and Chrome a simple way to switch to the currently playing tab is this:

Use the "Trigger Menu Bar Menu Item" action with this path:

Tab;*🔊

Unfortunately Vivaldi does not expose the speaker icon in the tab titles, thus for Vivaldi I'm not sure whether there is a simple solution, so there you might need an extension.

Thanks, but unfortunately that action doesn't work with either browser here.

BUT: Brave (Shift + Cmd + A) displays a list of all audio tabs. At least that's something

@Frank1 let me know how I can help you install the extension – I think it's exactly what you're looking for.
