Built-in trackpad disabled, still responds to gestures

I am using a setup with a MBP and an external Magic Trackpad for ergonomic reasons.
I have disabled the built-in trackpad on the MBP (in accessibility - Pointer Control) and want to rely completely on the external trackpad.

But even with the built-in trackpad disabled it still responds to my defined gestures that I expect to only trigger when performed on my external trackpad.

This is a real problem when typing on the MBP's keyboard and regularly gestures inadvertently get triggered.

Is there a way to fully disable BTT's monitoring of the built-in trackpad?

Thank you
